The Orlando Sentinel reported on Tuesday, January 15 that airline representatives were collecting donations for TSA and other federal employees who are not being paid due to the federal government shutdown.
The article reported that they are accepting the following items:
- Gas gift cards ($10 denomination)
- Nonperishable food
- Baby supplies
Alliance Reservations Network contacted TSA security director Carmen Burgos this morning to confirm that the drive is still active at the Orlando International Airport.
If you wish to make a donation, call Burgos at 407-375-6181 before you arrive at the the airport. TSA will send a uniformed officer to collect your donations at Terminal A Departures curbside drop off. Donations are accepted from 9 to 11 a.m. or 6 to 8 p.m.
Donations can also be dropped off at Frontier Airline’s curbside desk on Terminal A’s departure side. Notify a Frontier employee that you are dropping off donations and they will collect them.
